About this winery

Château Roquefort is a picturesque family estate nestled in the heart of Entre‑deux‑Mers, just 20 km from Saint‑Émilion. The Bellanger family revitalized the property in 1976, replanting 100 ha of vineyards on a historically rich site—complete with a Neolithic dolmen, 13th‑century château, dovecote, and 18th‑century chartreuse. Today the estate spans 240 ha of diverse landscapes: vineyards, forests, meadows and pastures, emphasizing biodiversity and sustainable farming...

Production notes

The vines for this wine are on average 30 years old. Cold pre-fermentation maceration. Aged for 24 months in fine-grain Allier oak barrels.

Tasting notes

A wine with a deep, dark colour. The nose is very rich, complex and delicate, combining aromas of black fruits and cocoa with more subtle vanilla notes. The palate reveals fine, velvety tannins and great fullness. Blackberry, black cherry and dark chocolate notes emerge, while the finish coats the palate with exceptional sweetness. A wine of both concentration and finesse, worthy of a grand cru.
