Production notes
In this excellent 2016 vintage, Coali presents this cuvée based on 50% Corvina, along with its two companions, Corvinone and Rondinella. From the finest plots, aged for 48 months in oak after a light passerillage, Il Bigio takes over six years to come to fruition. Deep ruby with almost opaque garnet nuances, its complex aromas of blackberries, plums, anise, and other sweet spices tantalize the palate. Freshness and power are in perfect balance, while muscular yet disciplined tannins charm your taste buds, with lingering flavors of cooked fruit and chocolate that lead to a moment of sensory indulgence. Elegance and nobility of Valpolicella.
