“Pacheca” was the nickname affectionately given to Dona Mariana, a strong-willed woman and the original owner of this emblematic estate, first cultivated in 1738—twenty years before the Marquis of Pombal officially demarcated the Douro region. Production notes
Here is a “modest” blend that’s as traditional as it gets in the Douro. Brilliant ruby in color, with an enticing nose of red berries. A fresh attack, with impressive minerality and volume, while raspberry and strawberry flavors linger pleasantly. In short, another versatile cuvée with great value for money—from aperitif (don’t hesitate to chill it slightly) to cheeses and casual grilled dishes.
