Production notes
This Grande Riserva, made from 100% Touriga Nacional and sourced from ancient plots, benefits from extended aging that brings remarkable elegance. Opaque ruby with bluish hues, it opens with powerful aromas of Morello cherry, violet, anise, and chocolate. The balance between alcohol and freshness is expertly handled, thanks to a particularly cool late season in 2019. The structure is indeed muscular, but with rounded tannins that give full stage to lingering flavors of cherry and kirsch that keep teasing the palate. Yet another proof that the great houses of the Douro don’t rely on Port alone to impress us.
