“Pacheca” was the nickname affectionately given to Dona Mariana, a strong-willed woman and the original owner of this emblematic estate, first cultivated in 1738—twenty years before the Marquis of Pombal officially demarcated the Douro region. This Grande Riserva, made from 100% Touriga Francesa and sourced from esteemed parcels, benefits from extended aging that gives it remarkable elegance. True to tradition, the grapes are foot-trodden, and malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels. Deep ruby color with brilliant highlights, and a powerful aromatic intensity where blackberry and plum are lifted by sweet spices and peony.
