About this winery
Located at the heart of Alsace beneath Château du Haut‑Koenigsbourg, Domaine Sainte Joie covers around 32 ha of clay‑limestone and granitic soils, with an average vine age of 30 years. Rooted in the Meyer family's generational winegrowing heritage—from Claudine and Hubert to Gilles and Noémie Meyer Ferré—the estate evolved: structured in 1992; converted to organic and biodynamic viticulture in 2012; formally established as Sainte Joie in 2022; and expanded to Bergheim in 2023....

Tasting notes
Ruby in color with purplish highlights, its robe is brilliant. Highly aromatic, the nose is initially dominated by aromas of black fruits such as blackcurrants, blueberries, black cherries, and blackberries. These are followed by notes of sweet spices like cinnamon and vanilla, and roasted aromas. On the palate, the attack is round and smooth, with a dominant impression of velvety texture. The aromas detected on the nose reappear on the palate, with blackberry taking center stage. It boasts supple and silky tannins. Refined and elegant, it has a very long aromatic persistence. The finish reveals notes of menthol, eucalyptus, and jammy fruit. This wine is remarkably complex.
