Production notes
The Fabre Domains acquired the 15 hectares of Château Laride in 1976. The Iris cuvée is made from the estate’s old vine parcels, where Cabernet Sauvignon dominates. In this exceptional vintage, Iris excels. A brilliant dark garnet robe and a nose of blackberries, nutmeg, toasted bread, and bitter chocolate. Balance and concentration on the palate, with a fresh attack, firm and rich tannins, and characteristic flavors of ripe black fruits and sweet spices, all leading to a long, fruity finish. In short, volume, finesse, and concentration. In a Bordeaux often marked by excess, this wine is a worthy ambassador with superb value for money.
