About this winery
De Stefani Estate, situated in the rolling hills of Conegliano and Refrontolo (a UNESCO World Heritage site), has been renowned since 1918. It’s believed that Ernest Hemingway, who was wounded during World War I, might have found inspiration for A Farewell to Arms in the estate’s wines, as he received medical care here. Production notes
The Cuvée Stèfen 1624 recalls the first spelling of the family name established in Veneto in 1624. It is the Marzemino, an emblematic grape variety from Refrontolo (UNESCO), that is brilliantly showcased here. The appassimento process enriches this parcel selection. Richness, power, elegance, and refinement — Alessandro is truly at the peak of his craft. The opaque ruby color with violet highlights exhales fabulous aromas of small ripe fruits, blueberries, sweet spices, cherry blossom, peonies, and forest floor. A vibrant freshness ensures perfect balance in this colossus, which rests on strong, ripe, and plump tannins. Rich flavors of black fruits and chocolate intensify this harmonious sensation that lingers on the palate. This exceptional wine will awaken all your senses!
